The difference of glass coating agent & water repellent agent

The difference between glass coating agent and glass water repellent agent. Water repellent agent is like a general sealing agent. It forms a soft film adheres to the coated surface. The film will not solidify into a crystal. The corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance of the water repellent agent are limited. On the other hand, the glass coating agent will solidify into a thin film of crystal after sufficient reaction time. The hard coating helps to improve the scratch resistance and corrosion resistance of the film. Water-repelling property has nothing to do with the hardness of the coating.

Why should we coat the glass with glass coating?

Glass coating agent forms a hard coating film on the glass surface. It can resist dirt and the oil film to adhere to the glass surface. The attached dirt and oil film can be easily washed of the glass surface with water.

Composition of glass is 75% SiO2 (Silica Dioxide), and the main component of our coating agent is SiO2 (Silicon Dioxide). Since the coating material and the substrate are made of materials of similar attribute, the possibility of repellency is very low and they adhere well with each other. With proper selection of ingredients, careful adjustment of the formula and preparation process, the coating can fully adhere to the substrate surface and deliver the full performance of the coating agent.

Glass itself has many pores. The glass coating agent prepared by the nano process will penetrate into the glass pores to fill the holes. The coated glass will look clearer and brighter.

Application steps :

1. Clean the glass thoroughly with a cleaning agent. Rinse off the cleaning agent and wipe dry.

2. Grind the glass with the oil film removal paste.

3. Clean the abrasive paste and check the dirt and hydrophilic state of the glass surface.

4. Start the coating process on the glass surface.

Coating method of glass coating agent :

1. Fix the attached microfiber cloth on the coating sponge and put 8 - 10 drops of glass-coating

agent on it. (a drop on the left and a drop on the right side of the fiber cloth, 4 ~ 5 rows).

2. Spread the coating agent on the surface quickly and evenly, with a coating area of

60cmx60cm (no larger than this area).

3. Gently apply a thin layer of the glass coating agent evenly in a crisscross pattern for 2~3 times.

4. Let the coating stand for 2~5 minutes. (Note that the drying time depends on the ambient

temperatures. As a benchmark, the correct time is judged based on the coating is not

completely dry and the film can still be removed.) Fold the fiber towel and gently wipe off the

excessive coating material. Do it gently and do not use excessive pressure. Too much pressure

will reduce the amount of the coating agent on the surface.  It is wiped to a point that no

residue material observed visually on the surface and the glass is clear.

5. Make sure the coated surface does not touch water within 8~24hrs after application.
